Devaluation of the French Franc, 1936
Workers of the Paris stock exchange stand in front of a poster, in which the closure of the Paris Stock Exchange was announced until further notice. Following an agreement with the United States and Great Britain, the price of the French franc had fallen, so that the trade on the Paris stock exchange had to be suspended. The French government thereupon depreciated the franc by 25-30 percent
