District Office in Kilwa in German East Africa, 1905
The building of the district office under German administration in Kilwa, the so-called boma. Boma is an expression of the Swahili language for a fortified building. In the colonial period, the seats of the administrations were usually located here, so that the term was gained currency for the local administrative seats
