Diving ball Bathysphere attached to mooring ropes

The diving ball Bathysphere attached to mooring ropes during an expedition to the Bermuda Islands. The American zoologist and deep-sea explorer William Beebe together with Otis Barton established a diving record with a diving bell when they reached a depth of 1426 feet in 1934. At a depth of 3, 000 feet the Bathysphere couldn't stand up the water pressure and filled with water. Beebe carried out his expeditions on behalf of the New York Zoological Society
