Georg Graf von Arco (August 30, 1869 - May 05, 1940) was the technical director of the Telefunken Gesellschaft fuer drahtlose Telegraphie m.b.H, He was the originator of countless inventions, for example, the first usable wave breaker and the improved Loeschfunksender (generator of slightly weakened electromagnetic oscillations) and above all the variable frequency transformer. In 1916 he received an honorary doctorate at the University of Strasbourg
