Drop of Versorgungsbomben - provisions bombs in Kholm

Provisions bombs descend over the snow-covered meadows. The enclosed German soldiers are supplied by air for weeks. The airdrops contain ammunition, equipment and food. During the Kholm Pocket the Kampfgruppe Scherer successfully defended the city for 105 days. (A photo of the PK (Propaganda Company) by war correspondent Richard Muck who flew into the pocket at the beginning of March)
