East-West axis in Berlin-Charlottenburg, 1939

The view goes from the high-rise building at the knee on the east-west axis (today: Strasse des 17. Juni) in Berlin-Charlottenburg in the direction of Landwehrkanal, Siegessaule and Berlin-Mitte. The picture was taken on April 17, 1939 and shows the preparations for Adolf Hitler's birthday parade. In the center of the picture, large grandstands are being erected in front of the main building of the TU Berlin. In the background on the left you can see the steeple of the Kaiser-Friedrich-Gedachtniskirche
