Elisabeth Bridge, 1903
The Elisabeth Bridge was built between 1898 and 1903 and was the largest suspension bridge in Europe. Its construction demanded that parts of the historic city be altered. It was the only bridge that was not rebuilt in its original form after it was bombed down in 1945. The old piers were used to build a larger and more modern bridge
