Entry of Swedes in Magdeburg in the Thirty Years War

The Swedish military campaign between 1630 and 1635. The Swedish king Gustav II Adolf enters the war in 1630 to protect the Protestant cause and to secure the Swedish position of power. In 1631 he beats the imperial troops under Tilly at Breitenfeld in Saxony, marches through Thuringia and Franconia, frees the Palatinate and spends the winter in Mainz.
