Erich Raeder, Adolf Hitler and Hermann Goering
The colonels of the Navy and Air Force inspect Wehrmacht soldiers after they had defeated the French army after a short war. The next day, the Chief of OKW, Keitel, was to dictate the terms of the armistice to the French government on behalf of Hitler in the historic forest of Compiegene in the wagon in which the surrender of the German Empire was signed in 1918. The wagon had been transported here from a museum for this special purpose. Not in the picture but also present: Werner von Brauchitsch and Wilhelm Keitel
