Presumably as part of the training at a specialized school of the Luftwaffe for reconnaissance fliers, a student and a so-called Bildfeldwebel (Picture Sergeant) look at photographs. The image sergeant was trained and employed as a specialist in the production, processing and evaluation of taken pictures
