250 of the 907 Germans Jews who escaped from Germany did so on board of the SS St. Louis (Voyage of the Damned), the ship travelled for weeks to the West-Indies, America and back to Europe because no state allowed the Jewish evacuees to land, Finally they were accepted in the United Kingdom, Holland and Belgium
