Experimental setup to a lecture by Marie Curie

The experimental setup to a lecture by Marie Curie at the Sorbonne in Paris on her radium research. The subject of the lecture was the electrical conductivity of the air under the influence of the radiation emitted by radioactive substances. Marie Curie, born Sklodowska (1867-1934), the French chemist and physicist of Polish origin, was awarded jointly with her husband Pierre Curie and A H Becquerel in 1903 the Nobel Prize for Physics. In 1911 her work in the field of radiochemistry, the discovery and purification of radium and studying its properties gained her the Nobel Prize for Chemistry
