Figli della Lupa reading at the Balilla training centre

Even small children were integrated by the fascist regime in Italy into the youth organization Opera Nazionale Balilla, in order to be able to take them for their own ideology. The youngest boys, aged six to eight, were the so-called Figli della lupa'. In the picture taken on January 1, 1931, one can see a small group of these Figli at the Farnesina Training Center, located in the Farnesina district of Rome. They are looking at large picture books and booklets
