Film scene from The Dismissal at the Babelsberg Film Studios
In 1942, Wilhelmstrasse in Berlin-Mitte was reconstructed in the UFA studios in Babelsberg (then: Neubabelsberg) for the filming of the Nazi history film The Dismissal, as the real Wilhelmstrasse was already scarred by numerous Allied air raids on Berlin and could no longer be used for historical exterior shots. A military band marches through the street, accompanied by passers-by. The seal of the Filmprufstelle can be seen on the shot (right)
