The first ascent of the Zeppelin airship LZ 1 at Manzell o

The first ascent of the new German Zeppelin airship LZ 1 in Manzell by Friedrichshafen on the Bodensee was attended by a delegation of the Reichstag and members of the Bundesrat. The airship was 128 m long had a gas filling of 11 300 cubic meters and operated with two 14 hp Daimler engines. The LZ 1 was handed over to the military administration as Z II on 05.08.1909 in Cologne. After the airship had stranded at Weilburg on 25.04.1910, it was finally scrapped
