Flag ceremony - anniversary of proclamation Italian Empire
On 9 May 1937, the anniversary following the founding of the Italian Empire, a great parade was held in Rome to celebrate. At the Altar of the Fatherland on the Vittoriano in Rome, Victor Emmanuel III, King of Italy (right, with arms outstretched), decorated the flags that had participated in the war of aggression and the conquest of Abyssinia. An officer of the colonial troops holds out a flag to the king. To the right of the king is Benito Mussolini. Behind him on the right is General Emilio de Bono (with white beard)
