The flag ceremony of the Stahlhelm, 1935
The deutschnationale Frontkaempferbund (German National League of Frontline Soldiers) Stahlhelm, brought into line since 1934 and renamed Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Frontkaempferbund (Federation of the National Socialist Frontline-Fighters) (Stahlhelm) (NSDFB) at a rally on the Jahnsportplatz in the Hasenheide in Berlin. In memory of the comrades who died in the First World War, the flags are lowered. On the orders of Franz Seldte, the founder of the Stahlhelm, in connection with the reintroduction of compulsory military service, the crapes have been removed from the Stahlhelm flags that were carried there previously as a reminder of the so-called shame of Versailles
