Flag decoration after the referendum in the Saar area, 1935
In the days following the referendum on the return of the Saar region to the German Reich, the streets of Saarbruecken's old town are decorated with flags, banners and fir sprigs. In addition, in the windows of these houses are displayed portraits of the Heroes of the World War'.
