Flag of the newly founded German Luftwaffe, 1936
The new flag of the Air Force, which was handed over to the troops in 1936 on the Day of the Luftwaffe in the Gatow airfield near Berlin. It shows the emblem of the Luftwaffe surrounded by a laurel wreath; in the corners there are four swastikas. The other side shows an Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. Depending on the branch of service the color varied between yellow (flyer), red (antiaircraft) and brown (signal communication troops). Date created: 01.01.1933-31.12.1939
