Flight of Russian Germans from Ukraine and Transnistria

With the withdrawal of the German troops on the Eastern Front, more than 300 000 German settlers who lived in the Soviet Union and in the Romanian-occupied Transnistria were led back'. They fled before the advancing Red Army to Poland in huge treks and were temporarily settled (in 1944) in the Reichsgau Wartheland
