Flugsicherungsschiff - flight safety vessel

The Flugsicherungsschiff (flight safety vessel) Krischan II takes an easy school and training aircraft on board. The aircraft is probably a Heinkel He 42, a seaplane that was used for the training of glider pilots. At the time when the picture was made, the Krischan II continued its operations from List auf Sylt. This photo must have been taken before May 1936, since the ship still has a black hull. This was changed in May 1936 to the colors of the Kriegsmarine. On 13.08.1936 it was also renamed Guenther Plueschow
