Fridtjof Nansen on Lake Geneva, 1922

The arctic explorer Fridtjof Nansen during a meeting of the League of Nations on Lake Geneva. As a Norwegian delegate to the League of Nations and High Commissioner of the League, he organized relief efforts for the starving population in the Soviet Union between 1921 and 1923. In 1922 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (founder of the Nansen passports for refugees)
