Friedrich Christiansen

Friedrich Christiansen (1879-1972), German air force general. In the First World War he was appointed lieutenant colonel at sea and received the Order Pour Le Merite'. In early 1933, he was Reich Commissioner for aviation, later commander of a flying school and the National Socialist Flying Corps and finally, in 1939, General of the aviation. On 1 June 1940 he was appointed Wehrmacht commander in the occupied Netherlands
