Funeral of the Bavarian Prime Minister Kurt Eisner, 1919
Funeral of the USPD politician and Bavarian Minister President Kurt Eisner at the Munich East Cemetery. This photograph shows a group of former Russian prisoners of war with a portrait of Eisner in front of the consecration hall in the Ostfriedhof. On 21.02.1919 Eisner was assassinated by the student Anton Graf von Arco auf Valley from the environment of the Thule Society. Eisner was the leader of the November Revolution in Munich and proclaimed the Bavarian Republic a free state. The Versammlung der Arbeiter- und Soldatenraete (Assembly of Workers and Soldiers Council) elected him as Bavarian Prime Minister
