Funeral wreath with the picture of Kurt Eisner, 1919
This photograph shows the funeral wreath with the image of Kurt Eisner, that was placed on the grave of Eisner. On 21.02.1919 Eisner was assassinated by the student Anton Graf von Arco auf Valley from the environment of the Thule Society. On the grief ribbon on the left in the picture stands: To the most honest German'. Eisner was the leader of the November Revolution in Munich and proclaimed the Bavarian Republic a free state. The Versammlung der Arbeiter- und Soldatenraete (Assembly of Workers and Soldiers Council) elected him as Bavarian Prime Minister
