The French newspaper Le Miroir published a series of pictures with the caption Our victories have wiped out our nightmares of 1870-71'. The cover photo shows the French General Emile Fayolle (1852-1928) during the French occupation in Bad Ems on the spot where the French ambassador Benedetti presented the Ems Dispatch to King William I on 13 May 1870. On this spot, a memorial plaque was set into the ground
