General Field Marshal Walter Model - 24.01.1891-21.04.1945
Generalfeldmarschall Otto Moritz Walter Model was regarded as Hitler's firefighter, because he proved himself several times as a defensive specialist on the front. He was the only one of the 21 marshals to claim the suicide rather than being imprisoned. The monocle appertained to him to the stereotype of the higher Prussian officers and was intended to deflect attention from his bourgeois background
