King George V of England opens the London Naval Conference in the Royal Gallery in the British Upper House. Next to his throne on the right the British Foreign Minister Arthur Henderson is seated (at the table), on the left the French Foreign Minister Aristide Briand (1st from left). After three months of negotiations, on April 22, 1930 the maritime powers of Great Britain, USA, Japan, France and Italy agreed about the demarcation of the most important maritime powers spheres of interest and the restrictions of their fleet building programs
