German law, 1921

The Deutschvoelkischer Schutz- und Trutzbund (English: German Nationalist Protection and Defiance Federation), founded in 1920, propagated voelkisch ideas. After the assassination of Rathenau, it was banned as a threat to the state. This propaganda poster claims that Roman law was forced upon the German people and that it was elaborated by Jews. Because of the ever more advancing international Jewry and the slavery of the German people by the Jewish banking and stock exchange capital, this federation sees the necessity of developing a German legislation with German laws and institutions. However, the poster is an antisemitic pseudohistory, because Roman law was introduced in the 12th century to cope with the new state and economic development of the Occident, on the process of which the Jews had no influence
