German sailors with exotic animals, 1934
The crew of the cruiser Karlsruhe are posing with exotic juvenile animals at the end of a round-the-world trip, which were meant as a present for the Zoo of Kiel, when they were to arrive at their home port of Kiel. The sailors are playing with a leopard (from Ceylon), a kangaroo (from Australia) and a Himalayan brown bear. The Karlsruhe was a training ship for navy officers at that time.
