German soldiers comb a village on the Eastern Front, 1944
German soldiers search a burning village for Soviet soldiers at the northern sector of the Eastern Front (presumably in Lithuania or in Northern Belarus). In the course of Operation Bagration, the Red Army forces the Wehrmacht westward in the summer of 1944. Only occasionally can individual positions, such as a village, be held by the Wehrmacht for a short period of time. Photo of the Propaganda Company (PK): war correspondent Weber
