German soldiers in Kholm, 1942
German soldiers in at least partly warm clothing wait for a provisions bomb. During the three and half months the trapped soldiers receive supplies from the air. During the encirclement battle of Kholm the Kampfgruppe Scherer successfully defended the town for 105 days.
