Clearly recognizable are the gray active service uniforms, the 98 gun (held by the son), and the field gray coating on the spiked helmet. The father is wearing the so-called Sergeants buttons on his collar, the cross of the third class infantry on his cap and a hand weapon next to the non-commissioned officer's tassel on his belt
