German Tiger tank in Soviet countryside near Kursk

German Tiger tank in Soviet countryside near Kursk during Operation Citadel'. The developing tank battle produced the most losses of the whole war and Hitler called off the attack on July 13, 1943 without a victory. A novelty in the history of the war was a German order, by which the tank commanders were forbidden to protect fallen tanks and to save the occupants, so that no time would be lost for further attacks
