German typewriter, around 1890
The picture shows the first German typewriter, built in 1864 by the Tyrolean carpenter Mitterhofer, at the exhibition Deutsches Volk - Deutsche Arbeit ('German People - German Work') in Berlin in 1934. After many improvements and adaptations it could be found in most offices of the early 20th century
