With the declaration of the unrestricted submarine warfare on 1 February 1917, as a response to the Allied hunger blockade, begins the last period of the military intervention of German U-boats. With 105 U-boats about 6.1 million gross tons of enemy holds were destroyed until 31 December 1917. 01.01.1914-31.12.1918
