Joseph Goebbels during his speech on February 18, 1943 in the Berlin Sport Palace in which he wanted to prepare the populace for the growing encumbrances of a worsening war situation. Among others, he presented his listeners with a series of questions and these reinforced his demand for total warfare. On the back wall a banner states: Total War - Shortest War
