The Great Synagogue on Reitbahnstrasse in Gdansk was built from 1885 to 1887 in neo-Renaissance style according to the plans of architects Hermann Endes and Wilhelm Boeckmanns. In April 1939 the synagogue was destroyed by the National Socialists
