Representation of the great Boer trek: A circle of wagons of the so-called Voortrekker at a river crossing, some wagons, drawn by long-horned oxen, cross the river. Starting from 1835 about 10, 000 Boers left the Cape region in the direction north and northeast to find new land for themselves
