Gunfight at Graslitz, 1938

Shooting between Sudeten Germans and the Czech military. On the way from Cheb to Falkenau (today Sokolov), Sudeten Germans opened fire on Czech military trucks. Behind the trucks there was a Czech tank, which threw hand grenades at the cars. Nine people died altogether. Since the seizure of power by the National Socialists in Germany, the conflicts between the Sudeten German minority and the Czechoslovaks had intensified
