The German Ambassador to Spain, Hans-Heinrich Dieckhoff talking to the Spanish General and Captain General of Catalonia Moscardo (r.) in the port of Barcelona. There they will greet German injured soldiers who, under the mediation of the Red Cross, were exchanged with Britain due to international agreements. The approximately 1, 000 German wounded were then shipped to Germany hospital ships with were specially marked and illuminated. In the background, one of the ships with the words Geleit (Escort)
