Headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief Gustav Noske, 1919

View of the Landhaus Dahlem in the district with the same name in Berlin. This was the headquarters of the Volksbeauftragten fuer Heer und Marine (People's Representative for Army and Navy) Gustav Noske during the January uprising and the Berlin Maerzkaempfe (March fights) in the spring of 1919. In front of it stand members of the Freikorps, who were responsible for the suppression of the riot. The black-white-red flag is being hoisted. This photo was taken probably during the January uprising
