Henry VII puts Jews under his protection
Emperor Henry VII confirms to the Jews their particular legal position by declaring that they are belonging to the imperial chamber (servi camerae)'. Like other emperors before him, he tried to curb the persecution of Jews, which had been increasing since the first crusade in 1096, by granting protection letters
