Horatius Cocles defends Rome
The advancing Etruscan army had already reached in the Tiber in the fight against Rome. In order to give the Roman troops time to destroy the bridge over the Tiber, Horatius Cocles defended the entrance to the bridge long enough until it was no longer passable. Rome was saved in this way
