Hugo von Francois, German officer. Together with his brother Kurt von Francois, he established the German Colonial Force for German South-West Africa and filled the post of Representative of the Commander in German South-West Africa. In the interim he was a farmer and was called to duty in the beginning of the Herero conflict. He fell in 1904
