Ice rink in front of Vajdahunyad Castle, 1929
The ice rink of Vajdahunyad Castle was the largest ice-skate in the world in 1929. It was 400 meters long and had a surface of 5500 sq, it was supposed to be extended to over 9000 sq until 1930. In 1929 it hosted Ice Hockey World Championships. Vajdahunyad Castle was initially built for the World's Fair in 1896 to celebrate the colonization of the Budapest Basin by the Magyars 1000 years ago. It accommodates the Museum of Agriculture since 1887. Initially it was made of cardboard and in 1904 it was rebuilt with stone
