On October 29, 1937, Benito Mussolini (left, on the balcony) inaugurated the Aprilia settlement in the Pontine Marshes, newly founded in April and previously drained. Reich Minister Rudolf Hess was present at his speech (to his left). The balcony is part of the Torre Littoria in Piazza Roma
