This photo from March 1933 from Munich demonstrates dramatically the lack of rights of Jewish citizens and the brutal access of the SS and SA after the seizure of power by the Nazis in January 1933. The Munich-based Jewish lawyer Dr. Michael Siegel, who tried to complain in the police station against the encroachments of the SA was taken through the city center of Munich with cut off pants, barefoot, with a sign around his neck: I will never ever complain to the police
