Part of the army under General Freiherr von Luettwitz and right-wing politicians with Wolfgang Kapp being in the fore, forced the Reich government to flee to Stuttgart. Entry of the Marine Brigade Ehrhardt of the rebels on the Pariser square. After a few days, the coup failed primarily because of the general strike of the unions and the loyalty of the government bureaucracy
