King Otto I of Bavaria
This photograph shows King Otto I of Bavaria, the younger brother of Ludwig II. In this painting, Otto I wears the collar and the cross of the Order of St. George. The Order of St. George was the most famous Bavarian chivalric order and is still the house order of the Wittelsbach dynasty. Otto I could not take the throne after Ludwigs death due to mental derangement. Prince Regent Luitpold ruled in his place and from 1912 Ludwig III. Undated portrait, presumably from the 1870s
